Directory Sizer uses Microsoft SQL Server or MSDE for database services. If you are installing Directory Sizer on a machine connected to the Internet, be sure to keep abreast of security issues relating to Microsoft SQL Server and MSDE. www.sqlsecurity.com is a good source of information on SQL Server and MSDE security.
If you aleady have SQL Server 7 or 2000
If you already have SQL Server 7 or 2000, you just need this...
Download dirsizer21e.exe (0.6MB)
If you do not have SQL Server 7 or 2000
You need to install the free SQL Server 7 database engine - MSDE - and then install Directory Sizer...
Download dsmsde.exe (20MB)
Optionally (recommended), download the latest service pack - http://www.microsoft.com/sql/downloads/sp4.asp - from Microsoft.
Download dirsizer21e.exe (0.6MB)
Version 2.x to version 2.1e
Download and run this on your Directory Sizer Central server to upgrade your Central service, database, and the Scanner service on all remote machines. Also run it on your web server (if different) to upgrade the dszWeb. For new features and fixes, see the Support page.
Download ds21eUpg.exe (0.8MB)
Version 1.x to version 2.1e
Download and install the full version 2.1e kit. Once it's going, run the dirsizeu data transfer utility included in the 2.1e kit.
